DIRECTOR'S UPDATE
January 2010 Directors Newsletter As we burst into Spring I want to take a moment to highlight the success the region had in receiving and implementing federal stimulus assistance for transportation projects in the Napa region. Congress is currently debating additional transportation funding that may be available in the next few months. Depending on Congressional action, we may see up to another $2 million in federal highway and transit funding in the Napa region. This is not yet assured as Congress is still debating the “Jobs for Main Street” bill passed by the House of Representatives. Update of Countywide Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan to begin NCTPA, in cooperation with the County and Cities will be doing a comprehensive update of the countywide bicycle/pedestrian plan, including new plans for the cities of American Canyon, Napa and St. Helena. The process will take approximately 18 months and yield a fully updated bike network plan, including new, user friendly maps and tracking systems to keep the plan up to date.
